Having tasted the functioning of self catering Lodges, the owners of Ohlwini Garden Lodge took an initiative to construct their own self catering Lodge to enable it's clientele to cater for themselves at a destination. The Lodge enables it's guests to have the taste of their own food and beverages in the way of the guest's desire. Therefore, this allows the guests to pick their own ingredients whilst the Lodge provides all the kitchen uses.

Furthermore, the Lodge is very close to the highway headed to Port Shepstone up to the western cape province. Hence after a long drive, the guests easily get to the Lodge and rest thus reducing accidents in the Republic of South Africa which are often caused by fatigue after alcohol. Lastly, guests often enjoy spaces where they can feel at home although away from their usual comfort zone, that's exactly ohlwini aims to render to it's guests.
